With a commitment to help people living with HIV/AIDS, a social activist, P. Athisayamani of Ottanatham village in Ottapidaram taluk, raises funds from the public.
The 45-year-old farm worker turned into a social activist to help people with AIDS and the economically disadvantaged section of society.
The Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society planned to host a series of programmes for the people living with HIV/AIDS here on Saturday and funds collected in the programmes would be handed over to Collector M. Ravikumar.
Last year
Mr. Athisayamani, who spreads awareness of HIV/AIDS among the public, collected Rs. 4,635 for the cause last year.
Mr. Athisayamani is involved in social work since 1989.
He raises funds for the children of the people affected with HIV/AIDS on special occasions such as Children’s Day, World Diabetes Day and World AIDS Day.
