‘Govt. has started crop loss survey’

The State government has commenced a survey of crop loss due to the recent untimely rain so as to decide on the compensation, according to Minister of State for Agriculture Krishna Byre Gowda. Responding to concerns expressed by the Opposition members that farmers had suffered huge crop losses due to the recent untimely rain, the Minister said the government directed deputy commissioners last Saturday to conduct a survey of the extent of loss of all crops in their jurisdiction. — Special Correspondent
