Israel can offer solutions to farm crisis, say experts


Ahead of Israel Ambassador Daniel Carmon’s visit next week, when he is expected to hold discussions with Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the Indo-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry said the scope for bilateral cooperation was wide ranging from hi-tech security measures to water technology management.
What could, however, be of immense, immediate interest to both the States are solutions based on the expertise developed by Israel in the area of agriculture, particularly to increase productivity and address the issue of water shortage.
Round table conference
Apart from the government level discussions he will have, Mr. Carmon is also scheduled to address a round table conference pertaining to India-Israel ties to be organised by Chamber.
The conference is to be organised in Hyderabad on December 9, chamber president Udai Ken Sagar and Advisor and former Director General of Police Swaranjit Sen said, adding there is lot of learning Israel can share, including its experience at harnessing solar power, something useful in the backdrop of the power crisis faced by Telangana.
